The Library of Galicia receives a copy of all publications in Galician produced in Spain. This copy is deposited directly by the Publisher or is subject to the obligation to deposit at the registered office outside the Autonomous Community of Galicia. If the issuer of a continuous resource does not have a permanent seat, each new issue must be delivered to the mandatory delivery point where the request for a mandatory delivery number is processed. The following publications are not subject to compulsory delivery: 1. Continuous resources, journals such as newspapers and periodicals, serial publications and integrable resources, even if their periodicity varies and their format changes. In the event that the publisher or printing company changes its address, the legal deposit number of these publications must be kept. For this purpose, publications distributed in several media, whether graphic, electronic or integrable, keep the same filing number. 2. Works in several volumes. 3. Each of the different documents that make up a work, regardless of its medium. The form of preparation of the mandatory filing document for online electronic publications and websites is regulated by the Royal Decree of the Ministry of Culture.
In accordance with Law 23/2011 of 29 July 2011, Law 5/1999 of 30 March on the Promotion of Books and Readings of the Autonomous Community of Madrid and Decree 136/1988 of 29 December 2011 on the Statutes of Compulsory Deposit in the Community of Madrid, publications registered by compulsory deposit are sent to the conservation centres provided for in the Regulation. Estos centro son: the Biblioteca Nacional de España, the Biblioteca Regional de Madrid and the Biblioteca Pública del Estado in Madrid. Respecto a las partituras, an ejemplar is intended for the Biblioteca del Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid. It is the responsibility of the printer or equivalent body to request the legal deposit registration number, which should only be assigned to monographs and serials, and must complete the online form one week in advance. The assignment of the legal deposit registration number is completely free of charge. Similarly, publishers from the rest of Spain who produce works in Valencian must send an additional copy to the Valencian library «Nicolau Primitiu».
