The centre strengthens the Department`s DRP capacity to improve program performance and client service. Interns will have the opportunity to work on rule-making issues related to all modes of transportation, as well as current issues such as automated vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles. Ideal candidates do not need to have a background in transportation or administrative law, but only excellent writing and analytical skills, the ability to work effectively on multiple large-scale and urgent projects, and the desire to contribute to the safety and vitality of the U.S. transportation system. Although internships in our office are unpaid, former articling students have received academic recognition for their work with us through agreements they have with their law schools. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of topics, such as: budget allocations, tax law and financial management; acquisitions, financial support and public-private partnerships; innovative financing; property and wealth management; investments in information technology and capital planning; ethical employee conduct, conflict of interest and political activities; equal employment opportunity and other civil rights issues; federal personnel and employment; and alternative dispute resolution. The Office of the General Counsel, Operations Office, is seeking law students for full-time summer internships. Interns are an integral part of our team. Interns conduct research, write reports, correspondence, memos, present results and lead special projects. Interns also have the opportunity to attend intra- and inter-agency meetings and become familiar with the diversity of our practice areas. Although the position is unpaid, articling students can gain academic recognition for their work experience in our office through programs with their law schools. Internships can be with or without academic recognition. The Office of International Law provides legal assistance to the Office of the Secretary in all modes of transport. His areas of responsibility include foreign transport negotiations (including aviation, maritime transport, world-class satellite affairs and trade), international transport security, global satellite issues, aviation licensing and regulatory issues related to international transport, as well as international aviation antitrust issues.
