Ram Waffe Legal

The guidelines for magazine capacity are 8 rounds for handguns and 15 rounds for long guns. Of course, you can prepare spare magazines that can be quickly plugged into your RAM weapon. There are a number of manufacturers that have RAM handguns in their lineup. There are imitations of well-known pistol models, such as the Glock 17, the Walther P99 or the Walther PPQ. Many of them use the caliber 0.43. But there are also lesser-known manufacturers, which are also cheaper to get in price. Handguns typically use disposable capsules filled with 12 grams of CO2. Unlike long guns, shells are not usually used. Some of the gas released for firing is used to move the gun slide backwards and thus reload the weapon. The primary purpose of RAM weapons was to train military and police units. But customers appreciated the fact that the guns are very similar to real guns in appearance and handling. In addition, hits can be displayed, which is not the case when shooting with blanks. Especially for training in the army and police, weapons should look as realistic as possible.

This helps to learn the correct handling of real weapons during training. Deceptive-looking RAM weapons are, for example: In a long gun, the tank containing the gas is usually integrated into the shoulder rest. In Germany, mainly disposable CO2 capsules are used, which have a filling weight of 88 grams. Since 2009, new models of long guns have appeared, but the 2 x 12 grams «R-Tubes» are also used. Internationally, there are also reusable tanks with different filling quantities from 45 to 60 grams. Because of their strong similarity to air guns or airsoft guns, these are treated in a very similar way. Real action markers are therefore free weapons that you can buy legally, provided you take into account a few points. I would like to comment on them briefly. The first production of RAM weapons took place in 1998 by APS Paintball Ltd in Hong Kong.

The company previously produced paintball weapons and has been focusing on the production of RAM weapons since 2001. For home defence, I would consider handguns or shotguns to be suitable. Due to the limited space in closed rooms, I think the cans are too heavy. You can get a good impression of the efficiency and huge projectile energy of the real action markers in the video above. Here you can see the Umarex T4E HDS 68* shotgun in action. You really don`t want to be at the other end of the barrel, especially with the 16J variant. Especially not when steel balls* are used. The term RAM weapon stands for Real Action Marker and refers to operational replicas of firearms used by authorities, security services and police as well as in the private sector for self-defense. The dimensions, operation and weight of live-action firearms are very similar to those of conventional firearms.

Unlike the latter, however, live-action markers use rubber bullets, paint balls, or pepperpowder cartridges as ammunition. The emphasis is clearly on self-defence and the protection of one`s own home. RAM weapons also deceptively resemble a real gun. As a result, they act as a deterrent to potential burglars or violent offenders. In addition, in an emergency, they also have the option of keeping an attacker at bay using rubber cartridges or pepper spray. As I said, RAM weapons are often purchased for home protection. The damage potential is quite considerable and the different types of ammunition ensure that these long and short weapons hold up well in a wide variety of situations. The idea that these are therefore well suited for self-protection within your own walls is therefore very close. T4E stands for «Training for Engagement», a new generation of Umarex high-end training weapons for chalk, rubber and color marking balls, but also ideal for self-defense with pepper bullets.

You should also keep in mind that in some situations, drawing a weapon can have an escalating effect. Even more serious is the fact that visible and real RAM weapons can trigger the use of a sharp firearm by your opponents or by additional security forces. Therefore, drop your RAM weapon immediately when the police are on the scene. In addition, you must be at least 18 years old. Of course, this is also checked before purchase. All legal markers of actual action must also bear an F marking («F-in-pentagon» stamp). According to the Weapons Act (WaffG), paintball markers are air guns, spring-loaded guns and CO2 guns and are legally treated in the same way (like an «air rifle»). Paintball weapons are therefore not toys but fall under the gun law. Unlike a real firearm, the capacity of the magazine is not identical to the capacity of the thrusters.

With a propellant cartridge, 30 to 100 rounds can be fired from a RAM weapon. Real action markers are CO2-powered handguns or long guns inspired by real guns, which have prevailed in self-defense and home defense. In the following article, I would like to show you why this is so and why it might make sense for you to buy a RAM weapon. Find out what types of ammunition are available for this and what you need to observe legally. Last but not least, I would like to clarify with you how the German gun law classifies RAM weapons and whether you can buy them legally or whether these, such as handknives, are prohibited weapons. As with all other contributions, I have done extensive research to the best of my knowledge and conviction and have written them together briefly and concisely for you. However, as I am not a lawyer, I would like to point out separately that this is not binding legal advice. If in doubt, please always check the facts yourself or ask your police station.

Each of you has probably had the terrible scenario in mind that you wake up at night and hear the sounds of an intruder. In such situations, it is important to remain calm, dial the emergency call and be able to defend yourself in order to put the burglar on the run. If you do not master a martial art, self-protection weapons can be of great help in defending your property and your family. For example, RAM guns – but do they really help? With useful accuracy, handguns fire up to about 25 meters, long guns up to 50 meters. In Germany, the projectile energy of RAM weapons is limited to 7.5 joules. The 43 or 10.9 mm caliber is very common, but there are also RAM weapons in the 68 and 50 calibers. For comparison, 45 is the largest caliber available on the market for real handguns. The so-called RAM (Real Action Markers) weapons refer to CO2 or compressed air paintball weapons.

The weapons are faithfully modeled on real firearms and give the user a realistic shooting feel. Filming is done with paint cartridges or special rubber balls. The fuse has three snap-on positions on all models of long guns: In the following, we present the advantages and disadvantages that RAM weapons offer compared to other self-defense weapons. The essential accessories are ammunition and propellant gas containers. Reserve magazines have an obvious value precisely for self-defense purposes. Accessories such as a holster for a handgun also increase their useful value. Without getting used to it, it may not make sense immediately, but keeping the RAM weapon ready for a longer period of time is much more convenient in a case than putting it at hand. In Germany, Real Action Marker weapons can easily be purchased via the online shops of the security services, at arms dealers or in specialist stores. For RAM handguns, the price range is between €100 and €350.

Long guns, on the other hand, are usually more expensive and usually cost upwards of €500. A distinction is made between long guns (rifles) and handguns (pistols), which are available in versions ranging from revolvers to shotguns or a replica assault rifle.
